“Where is your office and what is your service area?”

My office is located in Witch City - Salem, MA. I love to keep it local in my beloved North Shore, but I’ll travel anywhere in New England for the right project and client! If your project is farther than 50mi outside of Salem, give me a call so we can chat about logistics!

“Are you a licensed Architect?”

Yes, I am! I’ve been licensed since 2016, and am currently registered in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. I also maintain my NCARB certificate, which allows me to obtain reciprocal licensure in any U.S. jurisdiction if I need to.

“I got drawings from someone else, will you stamp them?”

Nope! I sure won’t. That’s called ‘plan-stamping’ and I could lose my license for that. I can only stamp drawings that I have ‘responsible control’ over the preparation of. In order to have ‘responsible control’ over the preparation of any drawing set, the architect needs to have detailed knowledge of the content of the plans during their preparation. As stated in the MA Rules of Professional Conduct: “Reviewing, or reviewing and correcting, technical submissions after they have been prepared by others shall not be sufficient, in and of itself, to constitute the exercise of responsible control over the preparation of those technical submissions.” A word to the wise: be wary of any Architect who agrees to ‘plan stamp’.

“Will you come to my property and give me a free quote?”

Nope, sorry! Hiring an architect is not like hiring a repairman to fix some things around the house. There’s a lot of variables and research I have to uncover before the full scope and needs of the project are known, and what services it will take for me to accomplish them for you (it’s not a one-size-fits-all service). It wouldn’t be responsible of me to give you a price, before I fully understand your project and we determine what is the best approach for you to achieve your goals.
